HCI-SunBird
SunBird is HCI's lightweight content management system for hand-built ASP.NET Core Razor sites. It ships as NuGet packages that a host site adds.
Developers and agents build each page by hand, with its own design and CSS. The editable parts of a page are named slots: a title, a block of rich text, a photo. A signed-in editor turns on edit mode, changes slot values over a live preview of the page, and saves a draft or publishes.
SunBird is deliberately small:
- Editors change content only. Layout, design, headers and footers stay in code.
- Pages are built in code. Editors can add pages only from templates a developer built, such as news stories, under the pages the developer allows (see Let editors add pages).
- A typical site has one editor, so there are no approval workflows or roles.
- Each client site is its own app with its own database.
Note
SunBird is in development. Pages marked Coming describe agreed behaviour that is not built yet.
